This project incorporates the remodeling of the rear garden, a basement refurbishment and the enlargement of the rear patio door opening to a 4 storey Grade 2 Listed Georgian townhouse which is located within a Conservation Area.
The client’s brief was to convert an existing dark basement into a bright open plan family room with improved access to the rear garden, which is a small ‘postage stamp’ garden with varying levels making the space virtually un-useable.
Our approach was to structurally enlarge the rear patio door opening to incorporate large glazed folding doors with a level floor threshold. The rear garden was re-landscaped with modern materials which creatively utilised the varying levels in a sculptural and playful manner.
Planning Approval & Listed Building Consent were obtained.
